What the pilot covers

The state government has added assisted reproductive procedures such as IVF, ICSI, and frozen embryo transfer to the AB-PMJAY-CM ArK scheme. It starts as a one-year pilot for 120 Priority Household (PHH) and Below Poverty Line cardholders, delivered through empanelled private hospitals.

Nitara Scans is a diagnostic ultrasound centre, not an IVF centre, and is not empanelled under this scheme. Please confirm coverage, eligibility, and the list of empanelled hospitals with the Karnataka health department or your treating hospital.

Who is eligible

According to reports of the government order, couples must meet all of these conditions:

  • Married residents of Karnataka
  • Hold a Primary Household (PHH) card
  • No living biological child
  • Clinically diagnosed as infertile

Scans before starting treatment

Baseline pelvic scan

  • Uterus shape and lining
  • Fibroids, polyps, or ovarian cysts
  • Antral follicle count, an estimate of ovarian reserve

Tube check (HyCoSy)

  • Checks whether the fallopian tubes are open
  • Uses ultrasound and a contrast solution, with no radiation
  • Usually done after the period and before ovulation

Scans during a treatment cycle

  • Follicular study: repeat scans to measure follicle growth during stimulation
  • Endometrial assessment: lining thickness and pattern before embryo transfer
  • Early pregnancy scan: confirms the pregnancy location and heartbeat after a positive test

Your fertility specialist decides the timing. Scans are often needed at short notice, so a centre close to home helps.
